Biography

Cui Peixin, born in September 1986 in Liaocheng, Shandong Province. Ph.D. Assistant researcher in the Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

He received his bachelor's and doctor’s degrees at the University of Science and Technology of China in 2008 and 2013, respectively. In June 2013, he carried out postdoctoral research in the department of chemistry, University of Science and Technology of China with Prof. Yang Jinlong as his cooperation supervisor. In June 2016, he joined the Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

His research focuses on the study of new types of materials for environmental pollution remediation, using synchrotron radiation-based X-ray absorption spectroscopy as the main method to analyze the mechanism. In the area of heavy metal pollution remediation, a series of adsorption and stabilization materials were designed, and the passivation mechanism was studied at the molecular level; in the area of organic pollution remediation, nano (single-atom) carbon materials were designed for photocatalysis, and the electron transfer process in the photocatalytic process was deeply studied. He has presided over one general project and one youth project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and participated in two National Key Research and Development Program of China. He has applied for three national invention patents, one of which has been authorized. He has published over 50 SCI articles in the high-level journals, including Nat. Commun., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Energy Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., Appl. Catal. B, Environ. Sci. Technol., 15 of which he was the (co-)first or the (co-)corresponding authors.
