Biography
Doctor, Professor, Doctoral Advisor.
Dr Wu was graduated from Zhejiang University (former Zhejiang Agricultural University) in 1991, obtaining B.Ag., and he gained his doctoral degree in 1997 in Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in Shenyang. After that, he performed his postdoctoral research in the July of 2000 in Institute of Soil Science, CAS, cooperated with Professor Yongming Luo. Dr Wu’s main research interests and efforts are centered on soil chemistry, soil contamination and phytoremediation. He has been to Department of Biology in Hong Kong Baptist University, Rothamsted Research in England, Landcare Research in New Zealand and School of Botany in University of Melbourne in Australia as a visiting scholar, performing further researches concerning risk assessment of soil contamination, soil heavy metal contamination and phytoremediation techniques, and establishing well cooperation relationship with them. Dr Wu has been awarded financial support for more than 20 research projects in the past 10 years from Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, National Natural Science Foundation of China, CAS and related departments of Jiangsu Province. He has systematically been researching contaminating characters of Cu, Cd, Zn, etc in polluted areas, contaminant bioavailability, pollutant sources identification, phytoremediation and its enhancements together with environmental risk etc, and making great achievements in his research area. Until now, he has published more than 90 papers, applied for 7 invention patents (3 of them have been authorized), and gained first level award of National Environmental Protection Science and Technology (the fourth participants).
