Biography

Dr. Chenggang Gu is a research associate professor of Institute of Soil Science, CAS. He received PhD from the Department of Soil Chemistry & Environmental Protection, Institute of Soil Science, CAS in 2007, and then worked as Postdoctoral fellow for more than two years in School of Environment, Nanjing University. Focused upon the research fields related with soil environmental chemistry and environmental toxicology, his major interests include the environmental migration, transformation, bioavailability, biological effects and the associative micromechanisms and quantitative structure-activity relationships of POPs in soil. With the combinative tactics of experimental analysis, model development, theoretical computation or molecular modelling, the microbial enzymatic degradation, bioaccumulation /biotransformation and bioavailability of typical pollutants have been studied to unravel the structural characteristics and molecular basis that underlie the environmental behavior of interest, toxicity expression or antioxidant enzymatic activity in recent years. He has published about 60 peer-reviewed papers, among which twenty are conducted in the identity of first or corresponding author. He also serves as the technical reviewer for several journals, e.g. J. Hazard Mater, Chem. Eng. J., J. Environ. Qual., J. Mol. Graph. Model, Ecotoxicol. Environ. Safe, Mol. Inform., J. Soils Sediment etc.
